Cupcake Pops by Bakerella

In two weeks time I'm hosing a dinner event for the soldiers and families of which I am the FRG Leader for. (If you don't know what the FRG is... In the Army, each company has a Family Readiness Group that is responsible for ensuring the well being of the families and spouses of the soldiers as well as prepare them for when the soldiers will be gone for deployments... I am in charge of that group!) Anyhoo... I was going to make regular cupcakes for this dinner until I saw Bakerella's Cupcake Pops!!! I think these will be PERFECT!!!!

I'll post pictures and maybe even video of the process later this weekend!!!

Celebrity Cupcakes!

Khloe Kardashian was joined by Joan and Melissa Rivers as part of Celebrity Apprentice to sell cupcakes to passerbys in Manhattan yesterday afternoon. It's super exciting to see cupcakes in mainstream media... Cupcakes are here to stay!

Starbucks' new Via brand instant coffee is being launched this month.

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- A panel of seasoned Ad Age newsroom coffee junkies surprised themselves Wednesday when they were unable to tell the difference between Starbucks' new instant coffee and the chain's in-store brew. The blind comparison taste test was conducted with some of the first samples of Via, the "soluble" powdered coffee Starbucks is launching this month. Charlie Company, 2/23 Infantry Cupcakes

I had an FRG Meeting at my house this weekend and made customized cupcakes for the event. The flags on the cupcakes that I made are called "Guide-Ons" and each company in the Army has their own flag.

To make these flags I created the flag using publisher then cut them out and glued them to a toothpick. It took about 2 1/2 hours to make 24... but it really wasn't that difficult.

I am really looking forward to making different toppers/designs/flags for my cupcakes! Any special requests or ideas?? Send me a comment!

Valentine's Day Cupcakes
